Sound machine recommendations?
Sound machine recommendations?
I have a Sound+Sleep https://soundofsleep.com/ and until yesterday, it was great after more than 2 years. However, yesterday morning and this morning, it has made grating noises that have disturbed my sleep. I am thinking of whether I should get my current machine fixed or get a new one. I used Top Ten Reviews to buy this one http://sound-machine-review.toptenreviews.com/, but not all of the criteria they use matter to me - I don't care if it has a clock or ipod docking station, and I won't see it when I sleep, so the lights don't matter. Any advice on the ones that mimic delta waves?

I got an app for my Kindle Fire that does that. I think it was free. My O2 machine drowns out my cpap.

I found something similar to this at Sears, which I use with my XM radio.

You could load the sound track of your choice on a USB or a mini SD card, because the speaker is a player, too.

Based on a recent recommendation from a forum member I downloaded White Noise Pro to my iPad for $2.99. I have a white noise machine at home but needed something for travel and since I was bringing my iPad on my trip...

I added the "Box Fan" sound once I had WNP downloaded because it sounds the most like what I have at home, and it helped me sleep while away from home. I think if my white noise machine at home should give up the ghost I'd just use my iPad app rather than sink money into another white noise machine.

Well, I have to give it to the company, they have great customer service. They are sending me a new memory card and instruction on installation free! I will download an app for the meantime.

Love my old Marsona , small, light, cheap. Model TSC-I or something like that - it's partially rubbed off. But the iPad app sounds like the best idea if you already carry an iPad.

I made up a naturesounds track and put it in a usb drive, I play in in my dvd player feeding a speaker system all night. The power draw is 10 watts plus the speaker system, no moving parts to wear out. Jimchunkyfrog wrote:I found something similar to this at Sears, which I use with my XM radio.

Re: Sound machine recommendations?
I second the "Marsona" recommendation. These little machines (I have the travel-sized) last FOREVER, seriously. My first one I got in 1990; in 2006 it finally died (actually it was probably the plug or cord) AND THEY OFFERED TO FIX IT FOR ME (talk about customer service!) I had already ordered a spare machine, w/ a battery pack, a few years prior so I have been using that ever since. These things have been around the world with me and they are virtually indestructible. I've tried cheap junk (actually, expensive "cheap junk") from Sharper Image and other places just out of curiosity and they don't even come close.
Besides, do you really want to constantly run down your iPad battery? I think you can even get them now at Bed Bath & Beyond, and I've seen them on eBay too.

I have heard nothing but good things about their customer service. After two days of research I ordered a Nomad this morning.fmj13 wrote:Well, I have to give it to the company, they have great customer service. Re: Sound machine recommendations?
For a decade, I've used an old C. Crane radio tuned to the TV channel output. I always select a blank channel that just produces a nice tone of white noise, grey noise actually cuz it's a bit lower and softer. Lately I've been mixing that with a 'no-name' sound generator that has a babbling brook loop. Mixed together they are quite pleasant. I live on a street with three schools nearby, so at 8am it can get pretty noisy, therefore some sound generation is a necessity.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
