Re: Events

[quote="Rastaman"][quote="GoofyUT"]As RM said, the events are per hour.

On elast thing. I'd look at your mask. Your leakage of 15 liters/sec is HUGE (you must have had the mask off, or a break in a hose connection). Even the 0.36L/s is large, and I'm told be others here that the algorithm degrades at 0.4L/s or more. That's why ResMed has a mask bias rate setting in its set-up menu, to accurately calibrate the S8 for leakage beyond mask bias.

Sounds good to me.

How does PB handle this? And others?

and turned "settling" to 0. The leaks were .34L last night. I could feel it on exhales. It's been one week, maybe I need to clean this with mild soap every night? My DME guy said wipe it every day, wash it once a week. And last night was humid up here.

The other numbers look good, HI 6.7, AI 1.2, AHI 8.0, which is the lowest yet. I appreciate all of your help in getting this right.

Congrats

Glad that things are showing some improvement! Your leakage is still pretty high, and though I don't believe that it will degrade the algorithm, it still ought o come down. So, think about whether you're mouth breathing or whether there is still some mask leak. If you are mouth-breathing, there are LOTS of folks here who can help you with that (Fortunately, I've been spared this and I don't have a lot of experience with mouth-breathing fixes).

I would seriously consider setting your Settling time at a big enough interval to allow you to fall asleep. If I read you correctly, you said that you has set "Settling" at "0" (Off???). If that's the case, then your S8 will be detecting events, particularly hypops while you are awake and will artifactually score them, which may distort how it treats you when you're asleep, and screw up your numbers. Ever since I set Settling to 30 mins., my numbers have been going steadily down EVERY night, and last night, my AHI=2.0, AI=0.0, and HI=2.0. I've never been that low before, and before I turned Settling on, I couldn't get my AHI below 8! I tried EVERYTHING and I couldn't get below 8. I turned Settling on, and BANG! My AHI is 2.0! Just a thought.

Hope this helps!
