I've been on CPAP for 6 months now. It's working great and I'm 100% compliant.
I started with a WISP and wore that for about 4 months. It was OK, but I found that it was sore across the bridge of my nose and that it blew air in my eyes. I also thought it was pressing too hard on my upper lip.
At the end of September I went in to my provider with the intention of getting a Swift FX to try out. Instead she suggested I try the Nuance Pro.
Now that I'm used to it, I much prefer it to the WISP. It's more comfortable and no air goes in my eyes.
BUT, my wife has complained several times since I switched.
1) She says it's much louder than the wisp. I think it must be blowing on the pillow or the bedding.
2) The vented air is blowing on her much more if I'm facing that direction, so now we are sleeping back to back and she doesn't like that either. In fact she's complaining that her shoulder or back is hurting because she can't sleep on the other side. I think the wisp tended to vent up, whereas the nuance vents down at about a 45 degree angle.
I can go out and get another mask, but I'd prefer to stay with the pillow style. Since the Swift FX was pretty much the standard for pillows that is probably what I would try next, but would I end up with the same problem?
Thanks,
Jared

Re: Nuance Pro vs ???
Hi
You may want to try the F&P Pilairo Q.
The diffuse helps to eliminate the issues you have with the exiting air blowing on the pillow and your wife.

Re: Nuance Pro vs ???
Thanks. Sleep doc also recommended that one at the three month followup.
