changing pressure on cpap machine
Hi .. I've had two sleep studies; the most recent one recommend a pressure range from 7 to 10; physician recommended upping pressure one number at a time, hence pressure was changed from 7 to 8; it took about a month or more to get that change done. As I'm still having the same problems sleeping - waking every 2 hrs or so -Is it possible for me to change it myself this time from 8 to 9 so I don't have to wait another month to try to get some decent sleep? Anybody know how to do that?

All manuals are on line. People could give you more help if you specify the machine.
It is very easy to change the pressure. It has to be or the DME employees would be in big trouble.

Check out this link for step by step instructions on getting to the provider setup menu where pressures can be changed..and it has pictures to help.

You might also want to investigate the software that is available so you can see what is going on in terms of therapy effectiveness.
See the links in my signature. SleepyHead works well with the PR System One Pro CPAP.
Waking after 2 hours...might be REM related events not being well prevented. It's common to have more sleep apnea events in REM stage sleep and/or even need a lot more pressure for those REM events.
First REM typically occurs 90 to 120 minutes after first sleep onset.

Re: changing pressure on cpap machine
Thanks Pugsby .. I should be able to make the change following the pictorials .. however after reading over the material I've decided to leave it at current setting for at least a week, recording my AHI daily. Thanks again, you've been a big help.
