Hello all

Post by ejbpesca » Tue Dec 10, 2013 12:16 pm

May I introduce myself as a long..long time apnea sufferer who only began cpap, then apap treatment four years ago. My attempts at getting treatment have been long suffering and expensive. I still search. I hope to get some advice here for those who even a doctor has given up on as just "unlucky." Now that I'm getting older and older (62 at the moment) I fear I must ramp up (no pun) my efforts or I am in serious trouble as my blood pressure is totally out of control even with heavy meds.

I must say my cpap/apap trip has been a rocky road of hassles and failure to get consistent info much less personalized info about how to use the machines best. I also can't find a mask that fits my face. My face is I guess normal to to keep a seal on my full face mask is nearly impossible. My stat card reads that it leaks 80% of the time.

Right now I have a guest post asking about using a combo of devices..say oral and mask. I am desperate.

Hope you all are doing well. Any, questions, advice, anything is so welcomed.

Wish you had stuck to using one thread here instead of a separate one re the 'Total" mask, but anyhow...what meds are you on? I'm not being nosy, but wonder if they're fighting with Cpap for your attention. There are usually alternatives to most drugs and if any are making apnea or using Cpap/sleep worse, then you should find out about them, tho' not suggesting this is necessarily your problem.

Welcome to the forum.

Let's first of all figure out exactly which machine you are using now. The machine you have chosen in your profile doesn't go with the humidifier you have chosen.

So look on the bottom of the blower unit on your machine for a 3 digit model number which may be preceded by DS or REF and tell us what that number is and we can go from there.
Where are you getting the 80% leak number you mention from the "stat card"...are you using the software available or just getting the number off the machine itself?

You have software available..see my signature links for your options and how to get the software.
