S9 and Climateline

Post by LinkC » Tue Nov 26, 2013 8:30 am

I like WARM air, but not moist air. My display shows "Climate Control OFF". If I turn that up will the Humidifier come on and possibly burn out with no water in it?

If the controls are separate, where do I find the Humidifier setting so I can ensure it's off?

Thanks.

I have been using a machine with a climate line hose for less than a week. BUT: The RT said, if you have the Climate Line hose the heater for the humidifier should be off, and I should control temperature on the screen with the little round knob. If the machine is running, if I press the little round knob once, then the first thing that should come up is a display for the temperature of the Climate line. If that display is a yellowish orange, then one can turn the knob up or down to adjust it to the temperature one wants. If I press the knob again, the screen showing the temp goes to a bluish cast, which locks the temperature in, then the knob can be turned to give more information. Current: Leak Rate. RR. Volume. And there is another screen for Ramp, which I do not use.

The humidifer option, according to the RT, that you mention is turned off, would be turned on if you are Not using the Climate Line hose. That is if you are using a regular hose. And I should always make sure that I fully turn the Climate Line hose to snap it into place and make complete contact with the electric connection.

His comment. The Climate Line hose gives you more precise control of that same function. So if you want warm air, turn up the temperature on the Climate Line control.

I think you have to set ClimateLine control to "patient" or "manual"...I forget which...then you will have 2 separate choices available.

1...Setting for humidity 1 through 6 I think...with 1 being the lowest..I don't know if you can set it to 0 or not but worth a try.
2...Setting for temperature control....60 something to 86 degrees

Play with the Climate Control setting choices....automatic (which you don't want since you don't want moisture), patient or manual.
I don't have a S9 now to see how I got to those 2 choices and I have slept to many times...

Pugsy is correct, you need to change the settings from patient /auto to manual.

In the manual mode -you will be able to individually adjusting the temp & humidity levels

Clinical Menu > OPTIONS (after SETTINGS in the left sidebar)
"Climate Ctrl" is the first item in the OPTIONS menu. At least that's true for my S9 VPAP. Set to MANUAL.

As the others have already said, you need to use the "Manual" mode.

HOWEVER, with NO water in the water tub, you will get the same result as when one runs out of water. The STENCH is HORRIBLE.

Now, whether just leaving the water tub out of the humidifier will produce a different result is a Question I do NOT have an answer to. Or, whether that can even be done.

Perfect! I now have separate screens for humidity and "heated tube". Exactly what I wanted. Thanks to all!

And a pug for hugsy ... no... wait... reverse that.

Another option is to keep your hose under the covers with you. That will help warm the air. You can put H2O in the container, turn the humidifier off and pull the hose under the blankets. If you are not a "toss and turner" this may help.
