waking up early

Post by jerry101 » Wed Nov 20, 2013 10:59 am

hello everyone, i'm new to this forum and looking for someone who can help me with my problem,i'm a 67 year old male who was on a bipap machine for about 2 years before a had my total hip replacement done in august of 2013,after i had my surgery they the hospital couldn't hook up my bipap machine 'cause they didn't have the right connections for it,so a long story short,i did not use my machine for about 6 weeks, cause for some reason i was urinating too much, after not urinating that much at all after surgery,( maybe was do to the catheder that they tried to install and after several tries gave up )before my operation i was sleeping with my mask between four and six hours a night, now if i get 3 hours i'm very lucky,i wake up because it seems the humidity i'm getting is too dry, which i brought it down from 4 to 1 , and still have the same problem, i don't know if i should shut the humidifier off or what,( when this happens i take the mask off ) and fall back to sleep about a half hour later with no mask and sleep for four hours with no problem...what can i do to get back on track the way i was before my surgery? don't this setup.

i have a respronics concentrator set on #2
and a system one humidifier which is set at 11

Sign up, log in and set your profile up so we know just what you are driving at night. Since we haven't got a clue which of the hundreds of types of masks you are using it is really hard.

You say you are dry - where ? Are you using a nasal style mask or full face mask because that makes a HUGE difference.
