Trip to Shanghai
Took my VPAP with me to China. No problems with Australian security. They put it through the xray but didnt ask me to open it. When I arrived in Shanghai after going through immigration we just walked out the door. There didnt seem to be any security.I think it depends what country you are coming from. Machine works well in China no problems.I just use the supplied bottled water.

Yeah, Pudong is pretty easy, everytime I've been there customs really didin't do anything at all. Once you're through immigration it's down the escalator, put the form they have you fill out in a little box, walk through that little 'tunnel' into the main terminal area and you're done.ozze_dollar wrote:Took my VPAP with me to China. Hope you had a great time, I love that city.
Thinking of quitting CPAP?
No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:
Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.

I must admit I am so surprised with this city. Big...its enormous. It has over 7000 skyscrapers, that's the most in the world including New York. The place feels safe,no graffiti, clean, good transport, cheap, truly a beautiful city.

Re: Trip to Shanghai
Ukraine is a totally different concept:
We had no difficulty getting in; but they spent over an hour trying to shake us down (ransom)
every little trinket we bought for souvenirs.
This was years ago-: pre-mask; I hate to think what the greedy little gremlins would have tried with my equipment.
NEVER, ever going back!

You said "trying". Does that mean you didn't pay to get your matryoshka dolls out of the country?chunkyfrog wrote:Ukraine is a totally different concept:

Amazing, isn't it. The description I was given before I went is to think of it as a bigger, cleaner, safer NYC. It is quite a safe city, however as a foreigner there are things and certain people you do have to watch out for. I was glad to have my wife to guide me (she's from the Min Hang district there). But otherwise, it's a great city. Are you there now? Where are you staying?ozze_dollar wrote:I must admit I am so surprised with this city. Big...its enormous. Re: Trip to Shanghai
We didn't give up anything to the crooks.
We had a little help, a little sleight of hand; distracted the head creep by cursing him in fluent Ukrainian
(when he didn't realize my husband knew they were talking about ripping us off)
We got away with everything--gave all our spare kupons to our friends--(they said we couldn't take them out of the country)
we already gave our friends our Levi's and coffee before we left the house.
Everybody happy except the dirtbags.

Re: Trip to Shanghai
I think the terminal looks new so you may be describing the old one. I was surprised how few people there were in the terminal. Oh another thing the air. No problem in shanghai...its clear as anything.ameriken wrote:Yeah, Pudong is pretty easy, everytime I've been there customs really didin't do anything at all. Re: Trip to Shanghai
The last time I was there (2007) they were building a new runway and terminal (on the east side of the airport). I was only in the original terminal on the west side. I use the word 'original' because the whole airport is not that old.ozze_dollar wrote:I think the terminal looks new so you may be describing the old one.
