ok it's like this
recently got into bipap - and praise the Lord for that - I'm never going back to my sleep deprived self ever again. I'm over that hill!
however I'm not over THE hill, completely old and decrepit yet - and I've noticed some marks on my cheeks as the hard straps come down - and its good, it means I'm side sleeping which is what I want but not on a cosmetic basis - a kind of "burn in" of the mask leaving imprint -but it goes in an hour or so
over the years I reckon it'll build up , so I'm going to handle it now - does anyone know/can anyone recommend any good none itchy material to go round the edges of the straps of the mirage mask, to stop it leaving an imprint?
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy -- Contact Karen at Pad A Cheek. http://www.padacheek.com and she will work with you. She will even customize a pad or mask liner to deal with your specific issue if she doesn't already make something for your mask. She is a member of our forum here and we love her!andy5805 wrote:ok it's like this

Re: cosmetic?
I have tried several lotions over the years, and I use Afta aftershave for very quick results. Long term, I use Nutrogena post shave lotion on the marks. To me, the red marks on my cheeks indicate mask tightness. A profound mark will tell me I had my mask too tight, and a "normal" mark should be my "usual-tightness". Sometimes guys at work will comment on the mask marks as my wiliness to "be a go-fer to my boss" ... if you know what I mean. If someone says anything, I tell them I took a nap on a hot BBQ grill.... that'll shut them up....

Agreed! The Pad A Cheek cushion (and mask liner) are the best thing I've bought in months!kaiasgram wrote:Hi Andy -- Contact Karen at Pad A Cheek. http://www.padacheek.com and she will work with you. Re: cosmetic?
My wife made me a pile of strap cover tubes out of fleece......long before "Pad A Cheek" started selling them here.
They're not hard to make.

I wouldn't get the woman involved as she doesn't suffer from it and has had years of hell from me where I (still untreated) was angry and unhappyWulfman... wrote:My wife made me a pile of strap cover tubes out of fleece......long before "Pad A Cheek" started selling them here.

but i'm all for saving cash and not giving it to other people. Thanks for the advice, I'll get all art and craft on the problem despite being far more of a conventional DIY man, and see what I can do!
