Raised Events Cause Wake Up

Post by Starlette » Sun Nov 10, 2013 3:16 pm

Good after fellow pappers,

This morning, I discovered last nights SH data (shown below). You will notice a major cluster of events towards the end which caused me to wake up.
NOTE: If memory serves me correctly, I do believe Pugsy answered me a while back. However, I cannot seem to locate it.
It's my belief that the attached SH Data illustrated events that are raised (I've even seen this occurrence in the middle of SH) cause me to wake up.
QUESTION: Can something be done to not have this cluster of events that will cause me to wake up?

Thanks,
Starlette

Starlette,

I'm confused about what you're asking and about the data you posted.

Did you post the data for the whole night??? It shows only 1:06:57 of usage. Did you really only get a bit more than one hour of sleep for the night? Or did you turn off all the other sessions???? Or did you sleep with the PAP for only part of the night???

I also don't have the foggiest idea of what you mean by "events that are raised" waking you up. What exactly do you mean by a "raised event"??? Or are you simply talking about the fact that you've got a cluster of events going on that causes the SH AHI graph to go up???

My speculation: That cluster of events might be REM based. It's about an hour after the CPAP session starts, which is a bit early for REM, but not excessively early, given the fact that the time stamps say the session begins at 3:15AM and the cluster starts about 4:10 or 4:12, about an hour after you get (back) to sleep after turning the machine on.

Did your sleep studies say anything about your OSA being much worse in REM (or in supine sleep)?

RobySue,

Your speculations on which you asked me about pretty much correct. However, I will not be home tonight, I will respond tomorrow.
