When I was a child, a Jeep with a DDT-fogger sprayed our neighborhood numerous times in the summer. If we could escape our parents, we ran in the fog, screaming in delight.

My father tells of how he and my uncle escaped from the work camps a the end of WWII and walked back to the Netherlands. When they got to the Rhine river and met the US army they basically got soaked in DDT several times before they were allowed to continue on.

All the grandkids except one have weight issues.
