Travel cases

Post by KSMike » Mon Oct 21, 2013 11:22 am

I'm still using an M series that I sometimes have to fly with. As some of you may remember (I'm probably the only one still using an M series ), the case that comes with the machine is a great fit for the machine/humidifier but doesn't have enough extra room for a hose or mask. Obviously those things need to be carried on along with the machine, but my other carry-ons are dedicated to other equipment and cannot accommodate anything else either. I'm curious as to how other people have dealt with this. I'm thinking some sort of bag that can attach to the machine's case (and therefore be considered a single carry-on), etc. I realize the machine doesn't count toward the 2-bag limit but my other two bags just won't hold a hose/mask.

My Hybrid mask came with soft case that will hold the mask, wipes, Lansinoh, etc. It will loop over the M series bag strap. My hose, hose stand and extension cord fit easily in the front pocket of the M series case.

When I had an M-Series, I would just travel without the humidifier. Most of us don't need it every night. And only during very arid conditions (the dead of winter and desert conditions) do you really need it. I found that unless those situations were true, I could live without the humidifier for a few days. That allowed room for the hose and mask.

This case came up in another thread -- I believe John is the one who mentioned it. If I hadn't bought a Lowe's rolling camera case which holds my ASV and humidifier, my 8' hose, my chin-keg, and two masks, I would be looking at this one.

Perhaps this would allow you to consolidate.... it's not inexpensive, but it sure looks handy.

Just remembe... everything in the case has to be medical related. Stick an extra pair of socks in there and you'd better be prepared to explain their medical function.

That's my concern with a bag like the EZE. It's a great idea, but it would end up counting as one of your two carry-ons and it's not big enough to hold all the stuff in either of my others. I might have to just see if there's a way to attach my mesh mask bag to my M series bag somehow. I'm surprised someone doesn't make a CPAP-dedicated case that has room for just a bit more than a specific machine. I mean, a machine doesn't have much value without a mask.

I cannot go an hour without my humidifier, let alone a whole trip. I appreciate everyone's input!
