red face....full head mask
red face....full head mask
Hi, I am new to this, been a cpap user for about 4 months..I have tried different masks to see what works for me, so far nothing but problems..The full face has no leaks and allows me to move.My face has the mark of the mask for at least 5 hours, my eyes are blood shot and swollen..( more then regular allergies) and I have what appears to be a permanent bump on my nose..I also seem to have a sensitivity to heat right in that area, that makes it turn bright red .I was wondering if anyone else experiences anything like that.I also have looked at a full head mask that goes all around your face..Has anyone tried that..I appreciate any input....THANKS!!

Please fill out your profile with exactly which mask, machine and settings you're using. Your post leaves us no meaningful information to go on.
Could be you haven't initially washed your mask before using it, or you have it WAAAAAY too tight......among many other possibilities.

If you are having these problems with your mask, you may need a mask liner. Go to padacheek.com there is one for almost every mask.

Your mask may also not be the correct size or style for your face.
This has happened to many of us. DME's tend to sell what makes them the most money, (or happens to be handy)
and newbies may not be aware of all the possibilities out there.
You may be thinking of this mask, but fair warning--it doesn't fit everybody.

Re: red face....full head mask
Breeth,
Are you going for the FFM or Full Head mask because you are a mouth breather?
If so, consider the Oracle 2 oral mask. It has minimal head gear, doesn't rest on your nose, etc.
You might also consider the Tap Pap nasal mask that uses a mouth piece and no head gear. I don't think it is suitable for mouth breathers. Others may wish to comment on that issue.
