Okay, I have had a cold for 3 or 4 days and I am struggling with use of the mask. Two nights ago I did not use my machine at all. I was a mess with nose and throat issues from the cold. Last night I started out on my machine. Made it through about 2 hours but started to feel very panicky when my throat became dry and could not get to a glass of water quickly enough. Do people stop using their CPAP machines when they have colds, flu etc, or just try to get through it?
Thanks for input

The only time I have been non-compliant is when I had a really bad cold. I was off CPAP for about a week....just couldn't think about putting it on when my nose was all stuffed up and I had a bad sore throat. Later I asked my dr. about it and he said it was good idea not to use during a bad cold.

i keep a can of soda on my nightable every nite. i drink before sleep, when i wake up and if i awaken during nite/nap. Eliminates frustration of no drinking water at hand.
