Quattro FX Headgear

Post by RAMMALAMMA » Mon Sep 16, 2013 9:02 am

I noticed that the strap on the top of my head causes about a quarter inch indentation into my skull. Strap tension was adjusted just tight enough so there where no leaks (the mask was comfortable to wear). Has anyone noticed this? I changed the location of the strap by sliding it toward the back/top part of my head and the indentation went away. Most of it went away with 24 hours and its been a week since changing position & it seems like all of the indentation has gone away.

I have the same dent in the top of my head too. Fortunately, it kinda goes with my hairstyle, so I just ignore it

Go out and get a buckethead such as I have. NO mask or straps will make a dent in my skull!

Seriously, the same thing happened to me in my early CPAP days of Q-FX until I fidgeted around and found a spot where the straps felt snug, the mask stopped leaking, and I didn't feel as if my hairs were being twisted.

My concern was that the daily flexing of my skull might weaken it at the point of flex, kind of like bending a piece of metal back and forth, eventually it breaks at the point of flex. I was also wondering how my brain would be affected by the constant change in pressure because of the flexing. I don't want to hasten the dying off of my brain cells.
