Respironics 750 broken?

Post by Wallace7777 » Fri Sep 06, 2013 7:36 pm

I started treatment a week ago and was prescribed a Respironics 750 Bipap with pressures of 14/8 with a nasal pillow and Biflex on 3 and Humidity set on 3. After the first day I had an AHI of 9.2 and had a little trouble sleeping then 2.7 the next day then 1.5 the next and sleep was getting better and better. Now, a couple of days later, I noticed my last two nights seemed as though I was starving for air and something just didn't seem right. I woke up last night at 2:00am and checked the machine and AHI is not listed in the info section anymore(gone) and my pressures while breathing in and out we're 8/8. I was tired and went back to sleep, I checked again this morning and my breathing pressures were 9/9 and the AHI was still gone. I have a modem attached to my machine(for the first 30 days) and was wondering if the DME had called in and changed something remotely but when I called they said they had not even downloaded the info yet. Anyone have a clue what is going on? The 14/8 was starting to feel great and then everything went haywire.

Thanks for any information or help with this.

Out of curiosity is that just a loner until your real machine comes in? The 750 was discontinued when the 760 models came out. I would take advantage of the moment and get a newer machine instead of what they unloaded on you.

Regarding your real question. Unless you are on the wrong screen it does sound as if the settings have changed and if you and your DME didn't do it, then demand a new machine. Good luck with it all.

Go here and request the provider manual for your machine so you can go into the clinical setup and check the settings.

Also there's a video and short version of the instructions here

I doubt the machine is broken...sounds like someone changed the settings....but go into the setup menu to see just what it is set at.

I am sorry guys, my apologies... It is a 760P model and is a new machine. After the 30 day time window I am to unplug the modem off the back and send it to them.

Getting to the clinical setup menu is the same for the 750 and 760.
Go check the settings.
The manual is pretty much the same except for a couple of things about the heated hose and the Pressure support settings in auto mode.

The person at the DME this afternoon said something about it is an auto or is in auto mode???? They told me to unplug it and leave it off for a while then replug it in and see if everything straightens out. If it doesn't, I have to take it to them next week some time.
