Resscan 4.3 on iMac Parallels 7 Windows 7

Post by Garieprl » Fri Sep 06, 2013 11:31 am

I found that I needed to purchase a separate USB SD Card reader to get the Resscan 4.3 software to work on my iMac running OSX 10.7.5 with Parallels 7 and Windows 7. I could not get Resscan to work with the built in SD card reader on the iMac even though several other Windows applicatons could. Apparently Parallels presents the internal iMac SD reader as a network device rather than as a direct attached USB device.

That is correct. Works fine for SleepyHead, but not ResScan. It's because Parallels 7 is unable to present the built-in SD card reader as a USB device to the virtual machine. ResScan wants to see a local drive, SleepyHead doesn't care as long as you point it to the data location.

Fortunately, the USB SD card readers are inexpensive.
