A funny thing happened last night while I was sleeping. As you can see, I use the Mirage Activa mask and I've been doing pretty good at keeping my mouth closed while I'm sleeping. Well, last night, I increased my pressure to 10 and at one point I started laughing hysterically for about 5 minutes. (well who actually knows how long, but it seemed like a long time) I was laughing because of the noises that were coming from my mouth because of the increase of pressure literally blew my mouth open. (no smart comments please)

oldgear head is right. Many of us tape our mouths to prevent air pressure loss between the lips. A chinstrap can be used to hold your mouth shut, but for many of us there is still pressure loss between the lips. My therapy was not effective until I began taping my lips. Then I was happy to put the chinstrap in the drawer because it was uncomfortable and interfered with the mask headgear.
By the way, "mask flatulence" is air leaking out from under the mask. it doesn't sound like this is your problem.
