Tap Pap, 'POP' noise on elbow

Post by rosacer » Fri Aug 23, 2013 8:20 am

Hi everyone

I received my Tap Pap yesterday. I molded the mouth part and I use it last night.

I woke up with a feeling on the teeth, not too bad although.

The mask is light as mentioned by other users, that is nice.

I have a POP sound when I move, seems the articulation on the tube get stuck and doesn't moves freely enough and at one moment it unblock and makes that POP sound which travels on the tube and finish hitting my teeth, not too nice.

I asked at cpap.com and the lady told they haven't hear about it. I would like to know who else have had that problem I can't be the only one with that situation (Kteague also has the same problem).

Thanks guys.

Rosie I tried to duplicate what you are talking about this morning.
Just to make sure we are on the same page...are you talking about the connection on the mask short hose right at the quick release end to the long hose???
I can't get mine to "stick" at the swivel or make any noise or come undone (quick release without my doing it).
It takes considerable force on my part with hose movement to get the quick release to pop out.

Can you pop off the quick release thing and carefully run your finger over the ends where they connect to make sure that there isn't a tiny bit of plastic maybe on the surface of either connecting end?

Hi Pugsy,

The noise is from the part at the end of the tubing the side you plug in your long tube fro the CPAP.

That side has a kind of elbow who turns all around not the side close to your teeth.

I will check that tomorrow, today I'm leaving to work until 9pm and I start at 8am tomorrow morning

Thanks again I will check and come back to you Have a good day

Rosie

On mine the connection you mention can stick a tiny bit, never so much that I notice it asleep though. I wonder if yours might have a slight defect?

I suggest trying to work it around by hand. If you are able to locate a specific spot where it gets stuck enough to pop, try working it smooth. If you can't, I would ask for a replacement of that part.

OK, I check the connection I found nothing that could affect the free movement but it get stuck anyway. I added some lubrication I'll see if it works good enough not to wake me up.

Thanks

I've used Lansinoh on my squeaky joints.
