you will feel better, it just takes time. I am 6 months into my cpap journey and while I'm not jumping out of my bed every morning like the energiser bunny I have noticed a difference in how I feel if I don't use my machine. For example, last night for many reasons I couldn't use my machine and this morning I felt awful. It feels like a herd of elephants have had dance recital on my brain. I haven't felt this awful since the really bad chest cold (when I couldn't use my machine) which was a couple of months ago.
Basically I'm trying to say, don't give up.

Re: Newbies take heart
And to new people, I want to say that I have been using my cpap for a little over two weeks now and am doing great. I sleep through the night completely most every night, something that I haven't done in longer than I can remember. I am feeling better.....note, that is better not Tony the tiger Grrreeeat. At least I am not feeling like I am clawing at staying awake mid afternoon. I have slept with my mask on every night and not taken it off in my sleep, and my AHI is always below 2 and most of the time below 1. I don't find the mask uncomfortable to sleep with, and whatever little discomfort there is occasionally, is well made up for by the fact that I can breathe!! There is AIR...AIR is good!!
Yes, don't give up, keep positive, you CAN do this!!
And a gazillion thanks to the people here that are so knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive.
