new mask

Post by RedThunder94 » Thu Jun 01, 2006 6:18 pm

wow, so much for the evil dme medone, i found out that there is a 30 day exchange policy with masks, at least with medone, i didn't want to exchange my comfortfull 2 though, so i asked the RT there if i could try a nasal since i found out that i don't mouth breath as much when i'm laying down on my side, he told me to come in and give a couple a try,

he had several used ones and even let me try a mirage full face he had there, but it leaked like a sieve, unfortunately, i really wanted that one, lol. they were cleaned, but since they are labeled for single patient use they cannot sell them, so i was gonna get a freebie, too bad all he had in the nasals were mediums, i take a large,

so he thought about it for little while and then proceeded to get me a brand new large comfortgel nasal with chinstrap, he said they are 150 bux, but he will let me trade off my old one, but since i didn't bring it i can go ahead and keep both of them, how cool is that? lol, wow, i still think i lucked out with these guys, really.

i'm gonna give it a whirl tonight and see if i can hack it, hopefully it works for me.

What pressure did you test out the nasal at?
At 19 air was leaking into my mouth in large amounts it was hard to keep my mouth closed while awake!
Took me about 5 minutes to realize that nasal cpap is not an option for me.

we tried it up to 14, which is higher than i have ever had it while nose breathing, cause i noticed when i sleep on my side i don't mouth breath as much with the comfortfull 2 and the machine rarely goes over 11, it mainly stays below 10, while i was on my back and mouth breathing sometimes it would be at 16-17 and once maxed out at 18 when i first started therapy, but usually it is in the 14-15 range.
