Encore Pro colors...what is "black" with green on

Post by dllfo » Wed May 31, 2006 11:36 pm

I woke up sometime this morning with my mask in my hand. So I am guessing the black area is .....uh.....when it was off of me??

Any ideas?

I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

Could you clarify what the colors refer to please? Thanks.

If you're referring to the solid black line on your Encore Pro report.......that would be a "LARGE LEAK".....from when your mask was off and the machine was still running.

Thanks Den...I think you are right, but I looked for "color charts" with a black
and did not see it. I may have overlooked it.

Selena, the green is when I am asleep. I love this software, it lets me see what my body is doing. I have two or three nights with "blank", then green,
then blank, then green and so on. I guess I turned the machine off during
the blank times.

I am still learning about the software, but being a data freak I love to study
it and try to learn from it. Unfortuneately I am making slow progress due to
my meds. BUT it is interesting to look from one night to the next.

Den...on the Encore Pro Software...I thought the shaded area on the IPAP was the "predominant" pressure. The pressure I was at 90% of the time? Yet some of my other MaP readings had more minutes. Say "12" was 97
minutes, 8 might be 104 minutes. I must be missing something here.
On another day the shaded number had the most minutes at that setting.
This, for me, is where 2+2=5.

EPAP last night. Shaded number is 10. By definition, the shaded area is
"90%" of the time. BUT...I had 20 minutes of MaP time at 10, the number 11 had 15 minutes and the number 9 had 40 minutes....so how did the software decide I was at "10" for 90% of the time? Sometimes the phrasing
of a sentence is difficult for me (meds)...If I was at "10" for 90% of the
time....how come??? How come I was at "8" for 117 minutes? "7" at 60
minutes?? I cannot see any logical way to arrive at the number "10" for
the "90%" number. Again, 2+2=5 in my "concrete sequential" approach to
the formula.

If anyone reading the EPAP question understands the logic ...please tell me.

Dave,

Yep....the blank sections in the green bars are when your machine was off.

I'm probably not going to be of much help on the Bi-PAP interpretations in your charts, but (of course) IPAP stands for your inhale pressure and EPAP stands for your exhale pressure. The only charts from Bi-PAPS I've seen are a few that were posted on the forum. I would assume (although it doesn't seem logical) that it is doing some averaging of the 8, 10 and 12 pressures to come up with your 90% figure. I don't recall that you've stated what your (machine) settings for IPAP and EPAP are, so that may have bearing on your report results.

Maybe someone else with some Bi-PAP knowledge can help you more than I.

Best wishes,

Den

Den..my settings are 4/16 (adjusted downward per doctor) and the other
setting...the one whose name I can't remember...it has to do with exhaling...
or...sorry...my "google" won't search. The setting is a 3...and I think that is
how fast it drops the pressure so I can exhale...maybe?
