I'm lucky. My insurance covers 100%. But in 3 weeks I have to decide whether or not to buy or rent. Renting seems silly based on a machine that's $500 to $600 and chances are I'll be using it the rest of my life. I can see where that might be helpful on the APAP or BIPAP machines though due to total cost.
I'm sure the insurance company wants me to spend their money just like I would my own money. I suppose if I REALLY need APAP then I will get it due to the coverage. But for the moment CPAP with C-Flex seems like night and day vs. the old me.
Any opinions on whether to buy or rent?

At the end of the day, the buy or rent decision should be based on what it costs for you to get your CPAP through the door AND how highly you value service and responsiveness in the company you deal with.
BillMyInsurance.com is a good service that'll tell you if it is cheaper to get your stuff through insurance or through cash.

Please discontinue this thread. Somehow the system hic-cupped and made TWO posts while I thought it wasn't posting. I figured it out though.
