Activa and Breath rite strips (can I use both?)

Post by dizzy » Sat May 20, 2006 1:15 pm

Is the Activa big enough to allow me to wear breathe rite strips underneath without messing up the seal? Even if I order the suggested size?

Thanks

breathe-rite strips go lower on the nose than the activa mask line, so there's no overlap, at least on me.

I use the Swift Pillows and found that when I used BreathRite Strips that I lost some of the seal around the nares. I think the unintended effect was for the strips to increase my pillow size requirement from small to medium. I ditched the strips and stuck with the small...

I tried the Swift... way too noisy and made my nares very sore. Full face (I forget which one) leaked alot and I had to cinch it down too tight to be comfortable. CL2 was comfy, didn't leak, but over the course of the night did give me sore spots in my nares (it hurt just to touch for the next two days). Next was the CL2 with the over the nose cusion (what I've been using the past two nights). fairly comfy, doesn't leak too much, but I still have to crank it down to stop leaks... still comfortable, but is giving me a sore spot on the bridge of my nose, and it tends to leak pretty easily on my side.

I don't think you need to have the Activa very tight for a good seal, and it should hold up to side sleeping as well, so I'll give it a try, but I will need to use the strips (I just tried a ssmaller size last night, and they work fine... better for the mask). My only concern with the Activa is the bulk, but I'm going to order one anyway. Hopefully this will be it... (that'll make 4 masks in two weeks )

Thanks
