MMA (bimaxillary advancement)

Post by Cheri Jensen » Wed May 17, 2006 3:15 pm

Want to know if there is anybody out there in the Boise, Idaho or greater Idaho area that has undergone MMA (bimaxillary advancement) who would be willing to share personal experiences of the procedure and recovery, preferably by phone or in person, although limited e-mail OK. I have read several blogs/forums by folks in other areas but want to know about local experiences with certain Dr.s & facilities here. Thanks.

I'm assuming by reading blogs and other forums you've checked out sleepnet, TAS, and Roger, TygerHawks, and Sleepy Badger's blogs? If not, let me know and I'll give you the URL's.

I personally know nothing of the experiences in Idaho, as I'm in KY. I suggest you call the major university in the biggest town (Boise?) and speak w/ thier dental department. Find out what experience they had, what type of accredation the Dr's have and so forth. If you have to travel to get an experienced Dr., then by all means do it.

The surgery is pretty intense, and you don't want an amatuer performing it. I can't afford Stanford, but fortunately there are great docs in Lex and Lville. Good luck, and keep me posted.
