It has arrived!!! Remstar APAP C-flex

Post by froger25 » Tue May 09, 2006 5:33 pm

I picked up my new machine today. I am really excited about getting to use it tonight. It is already way quieter than the VPAP III I had. I am also going to be trying a nasal mask today. It is a Fisher and Pakyel Flexfit 407 I think. I am going to not wear anything over my mouth today. I have been informed that I will probably start closing my mouth after about a week of wearing it. Lets hope it all goes well!!!

Congrats on getting a great machine! Who said you would start closing your mouth after about a week of wearing it and how?

There was a post on here somewhere asking about mouth leak. Several people giving that person advice stated that you begin to get used to it and simply close your mouth. My DME told me today that her experience is that her customers tend to take approx 4 days before they start closing their mouths all night.

Besides that statement probably is not true, if it was true, you would only put your treatment one week behind, you might as well leave the machine in the box for a week.

If I was going to use this treatment I would try my best to get it working, out of the box. Jim

It takes four days before most folks figure out that they are not going to get any more useful information from the DME and they quit calling . . .

Based on the thousands of posts on full face masks, chin straps and taping, I think that is unlikely. But I hope you find it to be true. A positive attitude can make all the difference in the world.

DME's are typically wrong in almost all cases. But i have to say I had been a mouth breather and big time snorer all my life. After a short period of time with the swift and the cpap machine I no longer breath thru my mouth which makes me pretty happy. I feel for all the people who have to find alternitives to stop the mouth breathing. I may be the exception but it can happen
