Hi all!
I have the remstar Cpap auto with Cflex and heated humidifier. Does the humidifier function still work if you do not click on the "heat" button? Will there be less humididty with the heat off? Also, how to you turn down the heat function. After about an hour, the humidity gets too warm and gives me a closterphbic sensation. I like cool mist type breeze. Heck, I even like a cold crisp pillow. Always been that way.

Re: humidifier questions
It will function as a "passover humidifier". That is, the air will pick up a little water as is passes over the cool room-temperature water.guest wrote:Does the humidifier function still work if you do not click on the "heat" button?

yes. the warmer the water, the more it will contribute to the air moving across it.
1. hold the "HEAT" button for about 7 seconds until the setup window appears.guest wrote:Also, how to you turn down the heat function.
2. change the temperature, on a scale of 1-5 by pushing the "HEAT" button to increase, "RAMP" button to decrease.
that way.
3. end the setup session by pressing the "start/stop" button.
Hmmmm... has anybody tried crushed ice in the HH? Don't see how it could hurt. ????guest wrote:I like cool mist type breeze. Heck, I even like a cold crisp pillow. Always been that way
I also like it cool, I just use distilled water and leave it off.

Regular ice would add lime and other stuf, into it, if you made your own ice with distilled water. Room temp is good enough, if not chill the room. Jim

I think warmed air is claustrophobic because it may trigger a suffocation response, as in

I know that's how it feels to me. But I am trying to get used to warmer and damper. It's almost essential where I live, in the high desert under where air is normally under 10% humidity. My poor tissues dry up and crack... So I'm trying to re-wire this instinct. Tough to do.

Last summer, I would put my little plastic pop bottle that I use to refill my humidifier chamber in the freezer until it was almost to the point of freezing (a little chunky) before refilling it. NICE and COOL!
