Making a chin strap?
I know this has probably been asked before, but does any body know how to make one of those chinstraps?
Re: Making a chin strap?
If anyone can, I'd like to know because the universal one is scratchy? Any ideas?

My doctor suggested using a sports headband, and I tried it, but didn't work very sucessfully.
I finally sprang for the good one from cpap.com and it works great. Once in a while I find that my mouth is open, but I am very happy.

Chin straps,
do you know which style you ordered. I have the Universal (cheaper one) it's got a h ole cut out and GOD help you if your chin is bigger or whatever. But the softer side is actally kind of scratchy and the smoother side, that I use, actually has you closing the darn thing arse-backwards. Forget your hair. I mean it's yanked all over, between the Swift straps and this beastly chinstrap.
what is a sports band you mentioned?
Only benefit of this universal is a mini face lift, squashing up your lower face, miracle sinuses don't implode.

Respironics
Part Number: 1012911 $24.99
Really works good for me.
The sports band was a braided wide 2' band that had a velcro fastner. The type you would use for tennis, or racquet ball. I tried wearing it over the top of my head and below my chin.
Since I started using this headband, I very seldom wake up with a dry mouth. I also have a large size head and it still works well.

I use the Respironics headband when needed, too. I've also heard you can take a headband and cut a slot for the chin to go in. I found an old headband the other day and thought about doing this. Put on like a chin strap it is quite snug. I think the slot would make it a bit more comfortable. The Respironics headband has an adjustable velcro ends, well kind of. There are two pieces of velcro you can move where wanted.
I've tried the, I think it was Sapphire., Small. It didn't keep my mouth closed. It was not adjustable. I think the same manufacturer makes a model called Jewel. that is. I may have these backwards. They are both neoprene.
The universal is perhaps the ugliest one. Might as well take an Ace bandage and wrap it around your chin and head.
