Is constant pr 20 too high for zest nasal mask?

Post by Matty332 » Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:12 pm

G'day,

I was wondering if constant pressure 20 too high for a zest nasal mask and chin strap? It already makes my cheeks blow out like a blowfish with a full face mask.

Would I have mouth leaks?

Matt, you keep asking the same question. But at the end you do what your "doc" tells you. That what you said before. That your doc sets your APAP on CPAP mode and on 20 cm and that's it. How about putting your S9 Autoset machine, on your own, one night, on APAP mode, keep the max pressure on 20 cm, and set the min pressure on 10 cm. And let's see the results in graphs. In this case the APAP will titrate you and give a graph of the optimal pressure similar to that you would get in a sleep study in a clinic. In this case I would set EPR=3, full time, and no ramp.

Did I ask that question about nasal masks before? Sorry about that I have a memory like a siv sometimes. Apnea damage, psychiatric medication affecting my memory. I am not on a level playing field to some others here, sorry. I am not having an easy time and posting here relieves anxiety because it makes me feel like I am attempting to fix my problems and do something positive.

I am going to do what you recommended for an experiment for one night. It will be tomorrow night when I get my oximeter back and I shall post the sleepyhead data on this thread. Even if it doesn't control my apnea's one night won't hurt right?
