Max; since water bottles come in varying degrees of flexibility, (flimsiness)
one would hope he has a stiff one. --water bottle, that is!

Re: Macgyvers humidifier
An electric heating pad under or around the bottle might perfect the arrangement. Then once you have a proper humidifier, you can still use the pad as a bed warmer.
Re: Macgyvers humidifier
Chunky, I sure do have a stiffy, waterbottle that is
Unfortunatly the first night with the Macgyvered humidifier was not a success. Something triggered the machine to raise the pressure after a few minutes. After trying it a few times, I disconnected the humidifier to get a bad nights sleep, waking up 3 times to drink and spray my nose.
I have a feeling that it was the 4 meters of hose, one standard and one slimline that made the problem. After searching for hoses, I found a cheap hose that is made for the dirty water from washing machines. It looks just like a CPAP hose and even the silicon connector in each end is 22mm Tomorrow I'll purchase that hose and cut it down as much as possible and connect my standard hose between the humidifier an mask. I will then set up the S9 to use a standard hose and try again.
I see that people use the S9 with standalone humidifiers like the F&P HC150, so I should be able to come up with something that works.

Cool! Adapt and overcome! Only issue I could poltentionally see is that extra hose lengh is going to cause a greater pressure differance/drop between your mask and the machine where your prescription pressure is regulated. I'm not an expert on fluid dynamics but I have a basic understanding. Try it out, if the presssure drop is too much im sure it can be compensated for in the machine somehow

Hello Burkebang / Mac Gyver
I was just thinking about something yesterday...
Since in our tropical climate I never needed a humidifier because the air is humid enough... would evaporating water in the room, and of course near the machine would help? Did you try that? It may be easier to implement.

Re: Macgyvers humidifier
Maybe you need a smaller bottle. Like user from Singapore said maybe a room humidifier near the machine would help.

Re: Macgyvers humidifier
Not too close, though.
I've noticed much lower water use when the room humidity is fairly high.
Sometimes it is as much as 80% here.
Nebraska is no paradise.

Re: Macgyvers humidifier
Really like the creativity you have displayed with the MacGyver humidifier.
Don't want to "rain" on the parade, but would like to understand...
If evaluating a new/different machine why would you not evaluate the complete system, with the correct humidifier?
Especially, as you noted, you are miserable without humidification.

Re: Macgyvers humidifier
From what I understand he's in Norway and you have to complete your trial period and if that is successful then they give you a humidifier to go with your machine. So in the meantime you do what you have to do to get humidification.
