ResMed S9 card reader software

Post by Butch32940 » Mon Aug 08, 2011 2:35 pm

I have installed Rescan but it does not recognize my reader whn I try to download data. It says "There are no devices available for downloading data." I was able to download the data files to a folder in my computer but cannot open them to read.
Also when I open the softwar, I get a message with some gobleygoke That I do not understand and the choice to terminate, continue or debug.

When you installed ResScan did you allow the card reader software to install?
If so, uninstall ResScan and install again but don't let the card reader drivers install. Those are for the old card readers not used with the S9. If they get installed the software looks for something you don't have.

If you didn't install the drivers I have no idea what the problem is but would still suggest a re-install.

I think the card reader drivers for the old readers should work side by side with the SD card (even though they aren't needed). Otherwise how would doctors offices handle patients with both S8 and S9 units? I have the drivers installed on my system and don't have any issues at all.

Perhaps it should but doesn't all the time.
Others have had issues though with the old driver software and even the install instructions say not to install them if not needed. A re-install without the driver software has resolved the issue for others. Sure won't hurt to try.

OK, your right it wouldn't hurt him to try. Computers do weird things sometimes.

Welcome to the board.

Please check the link at the bottom of this post and fill in your equipment in your profile.

Which version of ResScan, and which particular S9 machine. (It should have a name next to the power button.)

What version of windows are you running? What kind of card reader do you have? Is it a separate USB device, built in to the computer, etc.?

You might look up the SleepyHead program and try it. It's still in development, but works pretty well. It works on most of the S9 machines. It's free and open source. viewtopic/t65738/SleepyHead-Qt-v08-alpha.html

I have installed ResScan 3.07.007, and I get the same error Butch gets. I am using a laptop with built-in SD card reader. Running Win 7 64-bit. I installed without installing the device drivers as mentioned, but reinstalled anyway. Any help would be appreciated.

I just got a new S9 Auto delivered this afternoon and also just downloaded/installed ResScan 3.16 onto old pc running WinXP. It was able to install software and read the new SD card. No data to download until tonight's session.

One thing I read, when doing the install, DO NOT install any of the 3 driver options. This might be the source of problem? Good luck.

Another solution is to use SleepyHead software instead. I like it better because it is easier to use and faster. Search for Sleepyhead on this forum.

I have the same problem with the ResScan software. When i try to download the data, ResScan doesn't recognise the card. I've tried installing it 3 times - with and without the driver options. I'm using a Mac however i do have a windows environment (VM Ware). I do have Sleepyhead which is great though i thought i'd give the ResScan a go. Any ideas?

I just want to track my data on my laptop. I'm based in Australia and everything here is extreamly expensive has anyone imported spare parts for masks etc from the US the suff over there is a 1/4 of the price but i think you need a prescription which i'm sure my doctor would not be happy to give me considering he sell the equipment here in australia?

Masks do require a RX here in the US but mask replacement parts do not require RX.
Ebay sellers now break down mask listings into individual replacement parts. Some will ship internationally. Depending on which mask part...you might find a better deal elsewhere even with added cost of shipping to Australia. You would just need to do the math and compare to local purchase where you live.
