GoodKnight 420 humidifier and software questions

Post by UKnowWhatInSeattle » Thu Feb 03, 2005 3:04 pm

I'm thinking of heading toward a 420e and I have a couple of questions.

Is there much of an "internal" noise difference between using the 420e straight and with a humidifier? I know that my RemStar Pro is nearly unusable without the humidifier in-line due to the roar coming down the hose.

Anyone using the new humidifier yet? Howzit?

I'm primarily a Mac user... Is anybody using a PC emulator under OSX to run Silverlining to talk to their 420e via the data cable? Is the data cable USB or serial?

Thanks!

I have the 420E autopap and it's silent. the loaner humidifier is quiet. I have on order the new GOodKnight H2O htd humifiier. But the 420E is silent. What makes noise, is once the pressure has gone up and I have to cough and move my nasal pillows, the sound of the rushing air, kind f wakes you up some. But no the autopap itself is SILENT, SMALL, LIGHTWT, and seems fine to me I only am on night 7, so don't go by me. I use nasal pillows which aren't all that bad, at least nothing on your face, nose, into eyes, etc. It's just annoying to have to do any of this whole thing. Whatever works the most comfort. All I know is I can't wear a mask I am extremely claustro. I'd be non compliant before I hit the pillow. So I'll stay with the Swifty nose pillows. I tried on the Breeze, found it too hard a plastic doo-hickey down the front of my face, and the nasal mask, forget it. SUffocation time.
It's whatever can't leak and comfort. There's the gist of all of it.
