sinus pain

Post by karmi » Wed Mar 22, 2006 7:06 pm

I have been using CPAP for about 3 weeks and since the beginning I have had some problems with pressure/discomfort in my ears. For the last few days, my sinuses have been killing me. I didn't use the CPAP last night and things are a little better today. Has anyone else had sinus problems? I thought I was doing pretty well, but this sinus thing is debilitating. I had to take 2 afternoons off because of it. I would appreciate any input.

I have the same problem. I use a heated humidifier and an Aussie heated hose - with the humidifier cranked up to it's max. This helps a lot. Without the heated hose, I could only go about 1/3 up on the hunidifier or rainout would happen. This wa snot enough moisture for me.

I had the same problems with the ears - still do occasionally. I usually clear my ears nightly before I place my mask on. Once the pressure equalizes, I am totally OK.

As the humidifier keeps my sinuses moist, I tend not to have any more problems with the heated humidifier/heated hose combo. I would never go without both.
