im so excited!!
I have an appt with my sleep doc tomorrow and they told me to being my machine and they will do a reading-i have been very curious to find out whats been going on and I have been reading your stuff as well, so I cant wait!!!:)
Going in for a "fitting" tomorrow night
Met with my Doc post-sleep study. He indicated that I have mild to moderate apnea and scheduled me for a "fitting"tomorrow night. I was hoping someone hear might provide advise on the following subjects:
1> Any advise on how to make the "fitting" a more successful outcome?
2> I understand the masks are somewhat difficult to get used to. What about alternatives like CPAP-Pro?
3> I was given a presription for Provigil today. The first 3-4 hours on this stuff I felt great, "out of a fog" but I seem to be having a let down this evening. Has anyone had a similar experience with this stuff? Do you eventually reach a plateau?
I am really hoping this CPAP will make a difference.

Like many meds, Provigil is one of those that needs to build up in your blood stream to achieve full effects.
I only used Provigil if I was driving more than 15 minutes to keep me alert. But I discovered after about 3 months of xPAP, I didn't need them at all.
If you think you need them to work, definitely take them if you have to drive there and do thinking all day long or need to focus on your work. But if you are just doing stuff around the house and have been okay without the drug, I would just follow your body and do what it tells you, and it will probably tell you, you need a nap in the afternoon, so take one. WITH the CPAP.
