DME PROBLEMS

Post by Sleeping With The Enemy » Mon Jan 31, 2005 3:14 pm

I seem to almost argue with my DME provider. Finally asked her today if she has ever worn a CPAP, which she answered "no".
I have been having problems exhaling with the straight CPAP machine and she told me that I should try another mask and give it more time.
I called my doctor and insurance company and told them that it was my life, my sleep, my family that I needed to take care of and my insurance company and doctor told me that whatever I need to get some sleep they will do it and pay for it! AWESOME FOR ME!!!!!!!
But now the DME is dragging her heels calling me in.....I almost hope she ends up getting OSA. I know it sounds terrible, but she doesn't know what its like.

Exercise your freedom. Find a competent DME. Tell your doctor that the one you were referred to is not professional. Sleep Apnea is a long term problem. Some time invested now will pay off big in the future. Glad you have found this board.
