Having fought a losing battle with CPAP, my doctor suggested that I try an oral appliance. After 1700.00 dollars and many adjustments I found that my snoring had stopped.
My doctor was not satisfied with that and ordered an in home oximeter study. During 6.5 hrs my oxygen level dropped below 90% over 200 times. One time dropping as low as 70%.
This scared me to the point that I made up my mind to learn to tolerate the CPAP. Doctor suggested that we try a CFLEX Bipap machine. Did a sleep study with the Bipap and my oxygen level never dropped below 98%.
After two weeks becoming accustomed to the Bipap, another oxymeter study was done and the oxygen level remained constant at 100% all night.
JUST BECAUSE YOU STOP SNORING, DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOUR APNEA IS CURED!
A horror story!

Re: A horror story!
I'm impressed oceanpearl. Congratulations! I thought I was doing good with my oxygen saturation, keeping it above 95% most nights. Guess I've got a ways to go.oceanpearl wrote:Doctor suggested that we try a CFLEX Bipap machine. Did a sleep study with the Bipap and my oxygen level never dropped below 98%.
