DME's Are People 2

Hi,

I just need to share a Feel Good story and I'll leave out names to protect the helpful.

I traveled with my Remstar Pro and Swift for the first time Friday. I checked into the motel and experimented with setting up the machine and took a small inventory whereupon I found that I was missing the short hose on the Swift. I left it sitting in the dish drainer, I could picture it just fine. I cussed, muttered and resigned myself to a difficult night before taking a deep breath and looking in the phone book for a DME, any DME, it was 4:25pm on a Friday. Sonofagun, my DME (which shall go unnamed) had an office not too far away. Now, I am not big fan of them but I called, explained my problem and they said if I could get over there before 5 they would let me have one. It was less than 10 minutes away so I motored on over and was offered a barrel instead. I said I had the barrel but needed the short hose. He disappeared for a few mintues and then reappeared with new short hose saying "no charge" because if I bought it from his empolyers it would cost be an arm and a leg. I was a happy camper and the night was OK, not great but OK. So, DMEs are people too, good people sometimes.

Not so sure this was the DME as much as it was the guy serving you. You have to admit though that not all DME's are as bad as we make them out to be. Glad they were able to resolve your issue for free .
