AHI and Elevation on ASV
AHI and Elevation on ASV
Since starting on my ASV 13 days ago my AHI has run 4-6 each night. Those are mostly all central hypopneas (they often come at the end of periodic breathing episodes). I live at 8000 ft. and spent Christmas at about 5000 ft. My AHI was .94 that night! I guess I had to prove it to myself that central apnea has a lot to do with elevation (in my case). Still... I'm not thinking of moving - I love my mountains!

Re: AHI and Elevation on ASV
Good observation Teri. I believe there has been a lot of research regarding the links between high altitude and centrals.
The good news is with an AHI of 4-6, you're AHI's are right where you want to be, so you can stay right where you want to be in the beautiful Rocky Mountains! Estes Park is truly one of the most beautiful towns in Colorado, if not the entire US.

Thinking of quitting CPAP?
No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:
Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.
