Post by Smurph » Fri Oct 07, 2011 10:02 am

Does anyone know of a place in Pensacola Florida that I can donate a cpap machine and equipment too?
Thank You

Check with your doctor, I'm sure he will know of a patient that needs it but can't afford it.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Please tell us what the equipment is....brand, model, usage hours, etc. You could see if there is an AWAKE chapter in your area; they help those who need machines and cannot afford them. We have folks on this forum who are often looking for a backup system to have and may be interested in taking it off your hands with shipping costs paid, of course. Sometimes we have folks who arrive on the forum who are in a bad way..... severe OSA and no insurance. I am sure if we knew what the equipment is an can offer advice on it, someone who really needs it may be able to benefit.

If it is your equipment, please tell us why you are getting rid of it.

One other suggestion: if the machine is not too old or has low usage hours, http://www.secondwindcpap.com may be interested in taking it as a donation. They make sure good, used machines are fully checked, sanitized, and given to those who cannot afford or are without insurance. You can call them for details, but they explain that part of the business on the website.

I am also in Pensacola and currently looking for a backup. My hubby has been unemployed since 12/08 so money is VERY tight for us, leaving my search difficult. If the other Pensacola guy (Squid) doesn't want it, please PM me. Thanks.

Just your local Sleep Disorders Center. I work for a non-profit hospital network. We love getting that stuff because we serve quite a few patients that can't pay.

Don't bother to PM me, I'll bow out to Codinqueen, she needs it more than I do.

I'd guess that this person does not have a sleep doc and is trying to settle a loved ones estate.

Hey all,

I had my 2nd sleep study with CPAP Titration on Wednesday here in Pensacola. Waiting for the clinic to call back. I'm self-pay as my insurance didn't cover my studies so i'm looking for places to get a discount machine or donated equipment.

Try Craigslist for Pensacola, there are some good buys on there right now. Just put CPAP in the search box.

I gave an old CPAP machine to a local Free Medical Clinic. I'm sure there are several similar clinics where you live.

I Just wanted to provide some info on this organization. They have fairly strict guidelines about what machines they will accept. Less then 3 years old and they currently aren't accepting any cpaps and apaps. New masks and supplies are always needed...per their website.

Our local phone book has 'blue pages' for government and public service organizations.
Free clinics are in most places.
Also city missions, or the like.
Even churches, nursing homes, and homeless shelters.
I would venture the Red Cross; especially if someone was suffering the aftermath of a fire or flood.
