Heat? from Heated Hose

Post by judysunlakes1 » Sun Mar 05, 2006 12:18 pm

I have used the Aussie heated hose for 2 nights now, and although the air coming through is not cold as it was before, it is not really warm either. It is on the luke warm side, more on the "luke". Shouldn't it be warmer??

The heated hose has only one task: to prevent "rainout". It adds just enough heat to overcome the heat loss from the moist air as it travels from the humidifier to the mask. It's there to preserve a thermal balance and nothing more. If it prevents or reduces condensation in the hose or in the mask it's doing its job.

If you're not using a humidifier, or if condensation is not a problem, maybe you don't need a heated hose. It's not really a "warm nose" thing.

He who dies with the most masks wins.

I ordered my heated hose and it was shipped 2/24 - how long did it take for you to receive yours? I live in the southeast.

Just wondering when it will arrive and I can check mine out!

Mine arrived at my door exactly 11 days from the time I placed my order!
I think that's great turnaround time, considering where its coming from!

It may not make a big difference but check and make sure that the transformer that the heated hose is plugged into is set on 13 volts output. If you turn on or plug in the heated hose approximately 15 minutes before you turn on the cpap machine, this will give the hose a chance to warm up before the air starts blowing through it.

Is Florida in the South-East? Isn't the "South" to the North of Florida?

Anyway, mine arrived almost exactly a week after ordering.
