Vocal Problems

Post by choralcat » Fri Mar 03, 2006 8:31 pm

I have had a bipap machine for about 5 years. In the past 2 I've experienced vocal problems. My range has dropped from a normal 2 octave to about 6 notes. I've spoken to my regular doctor and an "eye, ear, nose, and throat" guy without result. I've wondered if the bipap machine has caused the problem or if I'm just worn out from teaching 6 classes a day for 32 years.

Choralcat,
Thats odd. Ive noticed the exact same thing while Ive been here in Spain. I also noticed that Ive been waking up with cottonmouth - something I never did in the US. Ive decided to try using my humidifier again. I had problems with it when it was heated, but Im trying it just on passover to see if that helps. Last night was my first night. Tonight will be my second, and I have voice lessons tomorrow. Ill let you know if it has helped at all.

Are you using a humidifier? Have you had any dryness problems? Good luck.
