Hi All,
I am fairly new to the world of CPAP (2 months in now ... and all is going well so far). My CPAP is the Philips Respironics System One Remstar Pro with C-Flex+. I travel pretty often and, after four trips dragging the CPAP through airports, would like to lighten my load. I tried using the CPAP last night without the humidifier and didn't have any problems, so I'm considering leaving the humidifier behind when I travel.
I am wondering whether there is an alternate (lighter) power adapter I can use with the device, assuming I would be using the CPAP only without the humidifier?
Also, is anyone aware of a small padded case that could hold the CPAP (again, without the humidifier) that I could use to help protect it if I were to place the CPAP in my roll-aboard suitcase? The case wouldn't necessarily need to hold the power adapter, I am mainly interested in protecting the CPAP.
I'd appreciate any advice you can offer!
Trying to lighten my load ...
Re: Trying to lighten my load ...
If you're keeping the rolling suitcase with you I personally would just pad the unit with clothes. You will be the one handeling it and can be careful. A case would just make things heavier. You could look at some of those softsided lunch bags or just buy some foam to wrap around it- not elegant, I know, but light and cheap. If you want something heavy duty check out Targus- they are having a sale today.

I would always carry on the machine and its power brick along with your mask and hose.... you never know when luggage goes one way and you another. You could look into a smaller travel cpap to use when traveling. Our host site has a few good ones listed.... https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machines/trav ... achine.php I don't travel much anymore, but the DeVilbiss Intellipap is a fairly small machine, and if you don't need the humidifier, it is very small. Another distinct advantage of the Intellipap is that is doesn't have a power brick at all....just a plain old plug!
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

Look at camera bags! When I travel, I have my carry-on (roller case) *AND* I carry my CPAP separately. I use the little pockets and stuff on the camera bag to hold chewing gum, A paperback book (or my Kindle). All the little doo-dads you might otherwise stuff into your pockets. I can't find the specific citation in the airline regulations right now, but something about medical equipment not counting as carry-on. You can get a camera bag (nicely padded) that snugly holds your CPAP machine and power brick and still has an amazing capacity for stuffing things into all the little pockets.
