Help with sore nose

Post by Merryj » Sat Nov 26, 2011 8:15 am

Hi, I had a cold and was blowing my nose alot. So now I have a sore on the bottom on my nose that is not going away - it is worse everymorning when I wake up. I have a nasal mask (see below) it is not too tight or anything, but rubs and I wake up with a very sore nose and a sore. What can I do or put on it to 1) help it heal and 2) is there anything I can do at night that will keep it from getting more irritated?

Merry
Use lansinoh....its the stuff nursing mothers use on their nipples to keep them supple. If new babes are not harmed by it, then we won't be either. Most of us pillow users use lansinoh on our nares prior to hosing up. Not only does it keep our nares soft it acts as a tacky substance to keep the pillows from shifting as we roll over. It can be found at walmart in the baby isle...purple box , cost $10.. and lasts a loooong time.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

I have a similar problem. The Lansinoh works wonders! The generic works just as well.

Lanisnoh is a brand name for many products. Lanisnoh HPA lanolin is the one you need, if you have a problem finding the right one. It looks expensive when you buy a tube, but you only use a little each night.

've had them now probably 20 times. Sometimes they don't hurt but when they get infected the pain is intense. But only Four times I had to be put on antibiotics for bacterial infection. And my doc. still can't answer me to what they are. But the thing is I don't get fevers with them. Any input would be much appreciated. I haven't seen this in here yet. It's not a sinus infection. It is actually in the nostril and it does switch sides. The longest time in between them was nine days. Other than that two or three days go by and it's back. Right now I'm on Septra for it. I'm just wondering is this part of the disease or will it eventually go away.
