Even more amazing that whoever sells/manufactures these things knows nothing about obstructive sleep apnea!

Looks like to me, someone went to HomeDepot and stole the caps off all the silicone tubes

Thanks, Snoredog.

It's a lot cheaper and quicker to go to Home Depot to get these things. .

Bill

This looks, at first glance, as totally useless both in theory and design.
First, the nares DO NOT collapse in an apnea. It is the throat.

Secondly, the opening at the small end is much less than the nares and would probably decrease the air intake in normal breathing.

But someone will buy the things.
There is no law against being stupid.

Well, on E Bay you can buy a CPAP case with "whats inside thrown in as a gift"...but don't be fooled...like I was...
Also, they will close and auction early and sell equip. E Bay deems unfit...
BUYER BEWARE.......
If it seems to good it probably is...I know.

it's really simple. ebay keeps the listings on if sellers include the warning:
if this item requires a prescription, buyer must provide proof of prescription. so why do so many sellers get spooked? just put the darn warning on there. it doesn't say anything. because masks don't require prescriptions. so what iis the big deal?

NUP,

eBay pulls all xPAP listings it can identify.

Has nothing to do with any declaration the seller makes - they get pulled just as quickly.

I see that some folk have snuck their sales through by not using the word cpap anywhere in their listings. eBay doesn't pull Aponea/Apnea monitors (but these are surely more critical than any xPAP machine). eBay also doesn't pull Pulse Oximeters. eBay does go through bouts of pulling masks but lots seem to get through.

I understand that Resmed was the driving force behind eBAy pulling cpap listings.

DSM

xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)

Seriously, those things look stupid. BUT, if I only snored and didn't have sleep apnea, I would give them a try. I paid alot more for the "miracle cures" to stop snoring.

I tried the Breathe Rite strips (like the football players wear), and could breathe alot better. They really opened up the nostrils and let the air in. But I ultimately got adhesive sores on my nose - plus learned I have sleep apnea.

Interesting for sure, but what about other places that sell "special pillows" that are supposed to resolve apnea without a machine.
It's all about something for close to nothing. People are quick to snatch up on a bargin (even if it turns out not to work).
I found it interesting that the person selling this little piece of plastic had 100% positive feedback. Interesting how everyone wrote in with positive feedback on the item even before the tried it to see if it would work.
