Need help getting script and loaner machine

Post by Pap365 » Fri Nov 25, 2011 2:42 pm

After fighting with numerous masks and dealing with leaks I thought I had everything settled. Now my machine is broken! The DME said they will replace it but they can’t do anything until they get a script from my sleep doctor. Apparently they lost my info when Praxair merged with Apria. I asked if they could give me a loaner and apparently they can’t do that without a prescription either. I thought a CPAP machine was a medical necessity. Any suggestions on how I can get the DME to give me a loaner? I tried calling the dr. but got voicemail.

Another reason to ALWAYS have a copy of ANY prescription in your hands.

Lesson learned!
Thanks for the earlier tip on adjusting my mask lower to fix eye leaks. It really helped.

I was able to print a copy of my script from cpap.com. My DME agreed to use that script to give me a loaner until they can get ahold of my sleep doc. They are even going to open the office early tomorrow morning so I can get the machine.
