Smart Card Data Recording Freeze Fix - EV 2.0

Post by genodgeno » Wed Nov 23, 2011 8:37 pm

If you are using Encore Viewer 2.0, some people are having trouble viewing data for more than 7 days. It seems folks are using "MyCPAP Card Utility Software" to erase the card every 7 days and saving each file. My CPAP machine is a RemStar Pro, M series.

I needed 7 days of data for my job as a truck driver in Texas with a Class A CDL. The Texas DOT requires proof that you are sleeping an average minimum of 4 hours per night for 7 days in a row. ( I think that is nuts!! 4 hours just isn't enough sleep for anyone much less doing a job where people could get hurt.)

I found that is you delete your profile/user info in Viewer, then create it again....presto!!! I had 9 days of data in a row from the card I thought was never recorded compared to the 6 days with 3 days missing. So it did record the data on the card. The EV 2.0 program is the problem.

Also note the display on my RemStar Pro, M series only displayed 6 days on screen. So something is amiss with reading the card in the program and on the machine.

CPAP.com in Stafford Texas has the best prices for EV 2.0 and the card reader. $109. You must buy the card reader that comes with the kit. It is the only one that works with the program.

Hope this helps....

You only need the card reader if you have one of the old, obsolete Respironics machines. All of the current PRS1 (Philips Respironics System One) machines use SD cards, and will work with almost any card reader.

cpap.com IS good. They also sponsor this site, but I say they're good when I post on other web sites as well.

OP has M series machine so he does have need for the smart card and the DT3500 Infineer card reader.
