I am at my wits end, been on a resmed machine since Sept 2011, my pressure is set to ramp to 18#''s I think. Rec'd cpap in Boise now in Mesa Az., problem is & has been after about 3hrs of sleep & pressure at or above 15 mask starts to leak. Have used Qurta FM, Qurtra FX, Forma FP, now on Swift FX nasal pillows

I sleep on my side but apparently on my back at times, I have a bed pillow to restrain back sleeping. All of the masks would start to leak as I turn & the pressure is at or above 15, however the nasal seems to work while using a chin strap, however air starts to exit via my mouth again at pressure of 15 or above while still laying on my side, the chin strap is a Flow Concepts, std.,

Please help, any & all ideas,suggestions and or recommendations are welcome

It would help us help you if you would take the time to register your equipment in the user control panel right under the search box above. If we know what machine and what settings you have, we can help you with this.

For example, if we know what machine you have, we can instruct you how to turn off the ramp and adjust your mask when the pressure is at 18, instead of starting the mask at a very low pressure and then having the seal blow when you reach a higher pressure. If your machine has data and/or is an autopap vs. a cpap, we can help you look at why the pressure goes so high.

But unless you help us by letting us know what machine (Make AND Model) you are using and what your settings are, it's hard to help.

Try the mask I and quite a few others here wear, the RespCare Hybrid Universal FFM with the comfort of pillows and the security of not losing precious therapy air. Coming with 3 sizes of oral cushions and 3 sizes of pillows that can set at 2 difference heights, you should be able to get a fit, ie, great seal. It's fiddly for some to get the straps, one goes over the head, set just right for a great seal but once set, it's magic. Most of us make a third strap to anchor the pillows at just the right angle...look for a post by Roster/Rooster on these straps, I think it's titled One Man's Opinion or somesuch.
