Newbie, my mask leaks

Post by learning2survive » Mon Nov 07, 2011 7:05 pm

Hello all,

I am new to wearing a mask. I was diagnosed a couple of months ago and got my first cpap about 3 weeks ago. I found a mask that I believe I can sleep all night with. It is ResMed Quattro FX, full. I find it comfortable, however, within about 4 to 5 hours after going to sleep, it starts to leak. First it was leaking just about my nose and blowing air on my forehead. I put a small bandaid in that spot, and after about the that amount of time, it was leaking around my mouth. If I get up, take off the mask, and put it back on, within the 45 minutes of the ramp, it is back to leaking. Is there anything I can do for this? Let me know if you need more information. Thank you!

Might be related to facial oils that accumulate as the night goes on. Perhaps a mask liner. There are store bought liners and people even make their own from old T shirts.
Padacheeks makes liners that are washable and reusable.

Remzzz makes a disposable liner

There is an old thread here somewhere where the Quattro FX was discussed in great detail.
