New Mask Leaks

Is it normal for a new mask (but same make / model) to experience some leaks the first night or two? I just started my new mask (same size, model, etc) last night and had some bigger leaks than I would have liked. Nothing major, just out of norm. I have swapped cushions before, but this was the first time in swapping the entire mask. Going to do a daily rotation so as I can have everything prepared earlier.

You have swapped out an older mask...thus its stretched, for a new mask with nice, new, tight headgear. You will probably have to play with the straps a bit to get it where you need it.

Yep, entirely possible.

I recently swapped out headgear and kept old nasal pillows. Took a couple of nights to get the headgear just right.

While I don't have much trouble swapping out the nasal pillows (just not much to them) I can sure see where a full face mask itself might also have a bit of difference in overall stiffness which could also affect leak.
For sure the new headgear will be different.

Actually, the headgear was from the old mask (which really is not that old, only 50 nights old).

Then it is the mask and yes the new mask can take a bit of "breaking in". Facial oils, washing and such will break down things a bit. Very gradual so you don't see it. This is why we have to replace the mask. There comes a point when it just gets too broken down to do its job well.

Don't feel bad I have the same situation. My "back up" Mask that is brand new same exact model is back in the closet. I couldn't stop that one from leaking all over the place. Meanwhile I got the older one to stop leaking, so I'm using that for now. I thought at first they must have very bad quality control, however I guess it's true you have to start from scratch with a new one, good luck.
