My pressure experiment

I was looking at my data last week, and noticed a lot of snores listed. I have my Intellipap set to auto 10cm to 20cm. I usually stay around 10 to 11, but according to the reports still snoring. I live alone so no way to know for sure. (dog won't answer!) My average AHI is around 3. Looking at my data it seemed when my machine adjusted up past 11 my snores went way down, so I tried an experiment and moved my minimum pressure up to 12cm.
Night 1: AHI of 2.0, 1 snore, Average pressure 12.1cm.
Night 2: AHI .08 (WOW never been that low), 1 Snore, Average pressure 12cm.
Night 3: AHI 2.3 16 snores, Average pressure 12.1 cm
Night 4: AHI 1.0 9 snores, Average pressure 12.1cm
Night 5: AHI 1.4 0 Snores, Average pressure 12cm.
Night 6 AHI .07 (WOW! LOWEST EVER!) 53 Snores, Average pressure 12.1 cm
Night 7 AHI .09 47 Snores, Average pressure 12.1cm

I seem to do better starting at the higher pressure then letting it self adjust, but am still seeing snores, even with a low AHI. Are snores really that big of a deal? I wonder if I should raise the pressure again and try for a 0 AHI. I did have 2 NRI for the weekwhich I understand are how centrals are reported on the Intellipap. Or am I better off just leaving everything where it is now?

Are these snore numbers the total for all night or average per hour? If total for all night....Could the snores be related to sleep position?

I am not sure I would lose any sleep over these snore numbers. Some nights I have a lot of them and some nights none.
Since I broke my wrist and ended up sleeping on my back because of the cast I have seen an increase in snores.
Not a big surprise. My AHI and flow limitations stay down though so I just shrug my shoulders and don't worry about them.

Total for the night...I wouldn't worry about those snores at all unless you noticed some spectacular feelings after the nights with minimal to zero snores.

I have something similar going on... some nights lots of snore with a few obstructive events corresponding to the loudest part of the snore graphs... other nights lots of snore with no events going on at the same time. (This is at my prescribed pressure of 14 cm.)

However, if I do 14-20cm apap range, there is very little snore, but I will still have some events and in the end I've noticed that my AHI will not be all that different.

With either scenario my AHI is almost always less than 2, so I haven't let myself get too crazy about it.

I think, like Pugsy, I probably end up on my back during the night and it is responsible for the snoring. Got to work on strategies to stay on my side.

You guys really are the best. I noticed that lately I've had more snoring and flow limitation so I did a search and here it is. Im glad to see its not something I should worry about.
